Holding her breath

Yesterday at 16.34 Ellybis1 told me she was holding her breath.
This reminds me of a situation approx. 5 decades ago. I was a voluntary worker at a hospital and with a GP in London. One day a young girl appeared and said that she had been coughing for several days. I chatted with her and realized that she was not born and bred in England. Her English, however, was pretty good so we continued the conversation in English. I noticed that she had some trouble with S,TH,ST, etc., when speaking, i.e. she mixed them up. She then went to be examined by the doctor. He asked her to remove her blouse and her bra. He then applied his stethoscope and said: „Big breaths“. The girl answered: „Yeth, and I’m only thicksteen!“
