Walnuts

So let's start with the conversation.
My walnut harvest this year was about 40 kg. Two years ago it was even 55 kg.
Someone asked me what do you want to do with all the walnuts. More than half I give away to relatives, friends and neighbours. In the Advent season they get
a bag with 1 kg. During winter I crack the other walnuts and freeze 200g kernels each. So I always have fresh nuts for muesli or to bake my walnut cake when guests come. Walnuts are so healthy, both for the heart and for the brain.
I could also go to the market and sell the nuts , I have seen that in a health food shop 500g walnuts cost 7 €. There are still some nuts falling from the tree, but I'll leave them to the squirrels. There are four young little squirrels whizzing up and down the tree and play catch me if you can. In the photo you can see my walnut tree, which I planted 55 years ago as a seedling. Does anyone of you has a walnut tree? Or what did you plant in your garden or on the balcony?
