The sweet sound of home

Duncan McDonaldhas grown up in a small village in the Scottish Highlands.
When he has finished his years at school, however,he chooses to study at an English university. He even decides to live with other students on the campus.
During the holiday break he goes home to visit his family in Scotland.
"And how do you find the other students, Duncan?" his mother asks him on his first day at home.
"Mother," he replies, "they`re such terrible,noisy people. The one in the room on the left keeps banging on the wall and won`t stop. The one on the other side screams and sreams all night.
"Oh, Duncan ! How do you manage to deal with such noisy neighbors?"
" Mother,I do nothing. I just sit there quietly, playing my backpipes."
