Cultural Differences

Three guys, an American, a Mexican and a Canadian are in a terrible car accident. They rush them to a hospital, but they all die in the O.R.
They arrive at the pearly gates, causing a big panic to the gate keeper. "There's been a mistake, we can't admit anyone at the moment," he cries. "We're doing a bunch of renovations, all the computers are down, and most of the staff is on vacation. Somebody really screwed up. Wait here and I'll get the boss."
He leaves, comes back shortly with St. Peter.
"Right, there has been a mistake. The admitting department is closed. We can't take you in", he says. "Tell you what we'll do. For $500 you can go back to life."
The American immediately goes for his wallet, pulls out $500 and hands it over, and lo and behold, he suddenly sits up on the operating table. The doctors are absolutely amazed.
"I don't believe this", says the one, "we just declared you dead." So the American explains what just happened upstairs, why he came back to life.
"What about the other two?" asks the doctor.
"Well, the Mexican is haggling about the price, and the Canadian claims the government should pay for it."
